I think small, independent shops run by local people and in particular those that promote local goods and sustainable products should be supported to have premises in the town centre. Rents are very high and this can exclude sole traders and serve the bigger national companies. Local traders and those promoting sustainability and where possible local produce and products should be subsidised in order to exist in the town.
